Some days are both endings and beginnings.
Take June 5th, for example. That day marks not only the end of the 2nd annual Kicking & Screening Soccer Film Festival, but also the beginning of the K&S photography exhibition.
Over two months, K&S's photo experts have pored over the submissions, and here are the chosen photographers: Patrick J. Shields, Risha Hess, Adam Spangler, Mauricio Bustamante, Angel, Ricardo Ramirez, Alice Keeney, and Kari Loya.
The winners span the globe from Bhutan to New York, Ghana to Brazil. Their photographs will be joined by a selection of shots from Jason Ajax Mercer of the Africa 10 project.
The K&S exhibition will run at two spots in New York: Opia, in Manhattan, and Woodwork, in Brooklyn. The photos will be on display from June 6th through the final match of the World Cup on July 11th, 2010.
During the exhibition, both venues will be putting on some cool events surrounding the World Cup. (They are really soccer bars masquerading as nice lounges.) Stay tuned for complete schedule of activities for each location.
Opia: 130 E 57th St (at Lexington Ave), Manhattan
Woodwork: 583 Vanderbilt Ave (at Dean St), Brooklyn
